1. Pfizer announce Covid-19 vaccine that is 90% effective
A vaccine, that was jointly developed by US company Pfizer and German company BioNTech, is 90% effective in preventing Covid-19 infections, the company announced earlier today. The results from the phase 3 trials far exceeded the expectations of experts. Meanwhile, out-going US Vice-President Mike Pence had to row back on an earlier tweet claiming that the Trump administration was responsible for the vaccine after a slap down from Pfizer's Head of Vaccine Development.
As Pence claims credit, Pfizer says it did NOT join in the administration's partnership.

2. Average rent in Waterford jumps 5% to €1058
In Waterford City, rents have risen by 5% in the last year and the average rent is now €1058. In the rest of Waterford, rents were on average 2.9% higher in the third quarter of 2020 than a year previously. The average listed rent is now €990, up 74% from its lowest point.
3. €9m allocated for Waterford to Wexford Greenway
A total of 63.5 million euro was announced today for the development of Greenways across the country, including €9m for the continued development of the Waterford to Wexford stretch of the Waterford Greenway.
4. Boil water notice for over 1,200 Waterford people
A boil water notice has been put in place for over 1,200 customers in the Kill – Ballylahneen area of Waterford.
5. Do you believe in fairies?
On this morning’s Deise Today, Damien spoken to environmentalist Sinead Mercier who is the co-author of a new book called ‘Men who Eat Ringforts’. Sinead explained to Damien that some of Ireland's 30,000 ring forts have been destroyed.
6. AJ Prichard test positive for Covid ahead of I'm A Celeb launch
I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here returns this weekend... with a bit of a difference. The ITV show will swap the jungle in Australia for the wilds of Wales with contestants bunking down in Gwrych Castle in North Wales. Big names who have been confirmed for the show include Olympian Sir Mo Farah, former Eastenders star Shane Richie, TV presenter Vernon Kay and Journalist Victoria Derbyshire. However the launch has been put into jeopardy as one of the stars, AJ Pritchard, has tested positive for Covid-19.
