1. Waterford records lowest level of daily Covid cases this year

A further 829 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Ireland, with Waterford recording its lowest daily numbers since the start of the year. Meanwhile healthcare workers received the first Astra Zeneca vaccine earlier today. The first delivery of 21,600 doses arrived on Saturday, although 35,000 are promised by the end of this week.

A Waterford father has described how his 11-year-old daughter is in pain waiting for an MRI scan at Crumlin Children’s Hospital – which they’ve been told she won’t have until July 2024.

The cost of renting a home in Waterford is continuing to increase. The average rent in Waterford City is now €1,067, according to new data from Daft.ie, that’s a year-on-year jump of 5.6 per cent.

6. Couple rescue dog stranded in Wicklow mountains for two weeks

A dog missing for two weeks was found in the Wicklow mountains and reunited with her owners this weekend. Jean-Francois Bonnet and Ciara Nolan were out for a hike on Lugnaquilla, close to where they live in Co Wicklow on Saturday.
