1. Visitors to Ireland could face fines for failing to self-isolate

People arriving into Ireland could face fines and imprisonment if they don't complete two weeks of self-isolation. That is one of a number of restrictions being considered by the cabinet who are also looking at extending Level 5 for a further 4 weeks. Meanwhile Gardai say they have fined members of exercise groups for breaching 5km rule.

2.Astra Zeneca shortages and vaccine scam alert

EU officials have called a second meeting with executives from AstraZeneca this evening after it said the pharmaceutical company had not provided ‘satisfactory’ answers on why it will not meet its vaccine delivery schedule. Meanwhile Gardaí, the HSE and the Department of Health are urging the public to be aware of potential scams relating to the Covid-19 vaccine.

3. Two charged following Waterford drug and cash seizure

Two men appeared in court earlier today charged following a seizure of drugs and cash in County Waterford. Gardai found cocaine worth €90,000 when they searched two cars in Butlerstown on Friday afternoon. They also recovered €64,000 in cash.

4. Waterford cleanest city in Ireland

Waterford City Centre moved up one place to 8th in the latest Irish Business Against Litter survey, it was found to be ‘Clean to European Norms’. Special mention was given to Waterford Walls which the survey said  ‘take the bare look off’ walls/buildings which might otherwise present very poorly."

5. Chelsea replace Frank Lampard with Thomas Tuchel

Frank Lampard has been sacked as Chelsea manager with Thomas Tuchel in line to take over the top job at the London club. A hat-trick from Tammy Abraham helped the Blues progress into the FA Cup fifth round on Sunday with a 3-1 win over Luton.

6. Good day at the races for Houlihan brothers from Dungarvan

It was family affair today for 2 brothers from Dungarvan who both rode winners at the same race meeting across the water. Niall & Sean Houlihan took three of the six races down for decision Plumpton races earlier. Sean scored on 11/4 chance 'En Core' while Niall enjoyed a double courtesy of 5/4 shot 'Sagouli' and Mr Jack at odds of 3/1.  Racing is in their blood, their mother Annmarie is a Phelan and her own father was a renowned producer of racehorses. Her brothers Pat and Maurice both train while another uncle Eamon bred future Gold Cup winner Jodami and became stallion manager at Coolmore Stud.
