1. Number of cases of Covid-19 at UHW continues to rise
The number of patients with Covid-19 at University Hospital Waterford has reached 111. Nationally there are 2,023 people with Covid-19 in Irish hospitals with over 400 people receiving high-grade ventilation and respiratory support inside and outside of ICU.
2. Rotunda second hospital to give vaccine to family members
The chief of the Coombe maternity hospital in Dublin has apologised after it emerged that Covid-19 vaccines were given to relatives of staff members, including his children. The Rotunda hospital has also confirmed that family members received leftover Covid-19 vaccines that the maternity hospital said it feared would be wasted otherwise.

3. Gardaí warn against courier payment scam
Gardaí have been made aware of a scam in which emails and texts are being circulated under the branding of various courier companies, requesting recipients pay additional costs for customs before their parcel can be delivered.
4. Waterford Ladies Footballers get a new home
Waterford Ladies Gaelic Football Association (WLGFA) have become the first ladies county football team to fully own their own grounds outright in Ireland after years of fundraising for an 11 acre site beside the Waterford Greenway on the edge of Dungarvan at Ballinroad.
5.Football lost at sea in Waterford turns up in Wales
A ten-year-old girl from Waterford’s Gaelic Football washed up on a beach in Wales over the weekend. Aoife Ní Niocaill was with her family at Woodstown beach in Waterford last Sunday when the ball floated out to sea. Her father Ruairi told Damien Tiernan on Deise Today how she was reunited with the ball.
