1. Covid latest - Taoiseach not ashamed - 3 arrested for broadcasting mass

There are 4,929 new cases of Covid-19 in the country, 68 of those in Waterford, while latest figures show that there are now 1,582 people in hospital with the virus. Taoiseach Micheál Martin has said it is “unfair” to suggest that the Government should be ashamed of its response to the pandemic. Meanwhile three people were arrested for breaching Covid regulations in Waterford yesterday after Gardai encountered them broadcasting mass outside the cathedral.

2.Three arrests following incident at Dungarvan Housing Estate

Two people have appeared in court in connection with an incident in Dungarvan over the weekend. Gardai were called to Estuary Heights at around 3.00 am on Sunday morning following reports of criminal damage.

3. All safe after boat sinks in Waterford estuary

Four people had to be rescued from the Waterford estuary earlier today after a fishing vessel sank just before midday. Another fishing boat and the Dunmore East RNLI were involved in the rescue. Meanwhile a swimmer was rescued at Tramore yesterday after suffering from hypothermia.

4. House of Congress to proceed with impeachment of Donald Trump

A resolution to impeach Trump for his role in last week's violence was formally introduced by Democrats during the brief pro forma session that took place in the House of Representatives this morning. The document accuses Trump of "incitement of insurrection," and claims that Trump actively encouraged violence at the US Capitol. Meanwhile the New York State Bar Association is launching an inquiry into President Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani following the events.

5. Craig Breen wins at Ice Challenge - Watch in-car footage

Waterford rally driver Craig Breen took part in his first Ice Challenge over the weekend, finishing first in his class and 5th overall. The event took part in Livignio in Itlay and involved buggies (which Breen drove), cars, karts and side-by-sides. Watch the nail biting footage from inside Breens buggy below.

5. Sex and The City returns - without Samantha

“Sex and the City” fans rejoiced over the weekend when Sarah Jessica Parker announced that a new chapter of the series is on the way on HBO Max. The new show titled “And Just Like That…” will follow Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte, now in their 50s, as they navigate life and friendship in New York. However Kim Catrell will not reprise the role of Samantha.
