1. €1million winning Lotto ticket sold in Tramore
Following the good news yesterday that a lucky store in Waterford sold a €1million winning Lotto ticket, The National Lottery has revealed that the winning Lotto ticket was sold at a store in Tramore. This Lotto Quick Pick ticket, which has bagged the lucky winner the Lotto Plus 1 top prize of €1 million, was sold on Monday 2nd November at the Applegreen service station on the Waterford Road, Corbally Lower, Tramore, Co Waterford.
2. 40 new jobs have been announced for Waterford
UK Headquartered company Trilateral Research has announced the creation of 40 new jobs at the Port of Waterford. The research, consultancy and technology development company say the roles will be added over the next four years. The company’s Irish office, based in Belview is expanding to incorporate the company’s machine learning, AI and software specialisms alongside their research, data protection and cyber-risk services.
3. Waterford’s Covid-19 incidence falls in all areas except City South
The level of Covid-19 has fallen in every local electoral area in Waterford except one. The latest release from the Department of Health shows that the majority of cases continue to be concentrated in Waterford City. Waterford City South now has the highest number, 72 were recorded in the two weeks from the 20th of October to the 2nd of November.
4. Semple Stadium will host Waterford v Limerick next weekend
Semple Stadium will stage the Munster SHC final between Waterford and Limerick on November 15th at 4pm. The game will be broadcast live on WLR with thanks to George Corbett Skoda.
5. Over €750 million of private investment is promised for Waterford over the next four years
The developers of the North Quays project say with the promise of government funding for the landmark development in the offing, they can now unlock other planned projects. The first of these is the development of 800 sustainable energy homes in Kilbarry, for which Falcon Real Estate Developments has secured €285 million. Director of the company Rob Cass says work will begin in January.
