1. Technological University for the South East could be stalled once again

Progress on the Technological University for the South East could be stalled once again. The TUI members of Waterford IT have voted to reject the latest memorandum of understanding.

2. Walk-in test centre to open in Waterford

Another temporary walk-in Covid test centre is to open in Waterford tomorrow. The centre in Kilcohan will be open to those with no symptoms, for the next 7 days.

3. Waterford’s David Cullinane remains confident over party’s voter database

Waterford’s David Cullinane remains confident the Data Protection Commissioner won’t find any wrongdoing by his party over their voter database. Sinn Féin leader, Mary Lou McDonald admitted this week that there were one or two minor breaches of requirements.

4. Waterford councillors approve free period products

Councillors in Waterford have voted unanimously in favour of a motion, calling for sanitary products to be made freely available in public buildings. It comes as it was announced this week that free period products are being made available to women affected by period poverty by the retailer Lidl.

5. Ryan Giggs charged with assault

Ryan Giggs has been charged with assaulting two women and controlling or coercive behaviour. Former Manchester United player Giggs, who is the Wales national team manager, was arrested in November on suspicion of two counts of assault against his girlfriend and another person.
