1. Christmas reprieve for one week

The Christmas lights were switched on in Waterford city yesterday evening, however restrictions due to Covid-19 could remain in place for the festive season.  The government is said to be examining having a week-long reprieve from travel and gathering bans for Christmas week. However the Labour leader has said the public won't take movement at Christmas being restricted to one week.

2.Waterford Council secures injunction against three Homesavers stores

An injunction has been granted by the High Court preventing the Homesavers retail chain from operating three stores in Co Waterford. Waterford City and County Council sought the injunction claiming the chain is operating the stores without planning permission.

3. Irish Water hopes to lift Boil Water Notice next week

A boil water notice will remain in place in parts of County Waterford this weekend. Irish Water is hopeful that the restrictions will be lifted early next week.

4. Kenny holds "positive" meeting with FAI following video scandal

Ireland football manager Stephen Kenny met with FAI CEO Gary Owens this afternoon after a video was shown to players before the international friendly against England last week. The meeting is said to have been positive with no suggestion that Kenny's job is under pressure.
