1. Taoiseach says he knows people are fed up with restrictions

Earlier Michael Martin would not be drawn on speculation that strict restrictions are to remain in place until June. The current Level 5 restrictions are due to be reviewed on 5 April, with the government expected to announce details of the next phase before that.

2. De Bromhead makes history at Cheltenham

It's been an incredible week at Cheltenham for Ireland and for Waterford after trainer Henry De Bromhead made history, becoming the first trainer to send out the winners of the Champion Hurdle, Champion Chase and The Gold Cup. He says its a dream come true. #HonTheDeise

3. Coronavirus: 10 deaths and 507 new cases confirmed in Ireland

NPHET has announced that there have been 10 further deaths as a result of Covid-19, with a further 507 new positive cases. The total number of confirmed cases of the virus in Ireland is now 229,306. There have been a total of 4,576 death related to Covid-19 here to date. There are 10 new cases in Waterford.

4. Former president critical of Vatican over same sex comments

Mary McAleese has criticised Pope Francis following a ban on the blessing of same-sex unions. The Vatican issued the directive on Monday which has been described as distressing and judgmental.

5. Centenary of the Burgery Ambush remembered today

It’s 100 years since four men lost their lives when the IRA set out to blow up Tarr’s Bridge to disrupt military movements during the War of Independence. The Mayor of Waterford today laid wreath at the site of the ambush.

6. 80-year-old Waterford student graduates from UCC

80-year-old PhD student Tom Walsh, an internationally renowned expert on customs law and practice, was conferred with his doctorate from the College of Business & Law this week. He spoke to Damien Tiernan on Deise Today - Listen back here.
