Since schools have re-opened many institutions have moved a lot of learning online, thus reducing the number of books needed in class on a daily basis. However this has not been the case with all schools. On the show today Damien speaks to a parent, Sharon Doherty, who has concerns about the very heavy school bag her child needs to bring to school every day.
We also check in with sports reporter Nigel Kelly live from Carrick On Suir as the town celebrates the success of Sam Bennett in The Tour De France. But is Sam from Waterford or Tipperary? We ask the locals. We also discuss UK cyclist Bradley Wiggins claiming Bennett is British.
Damien also discusses the worrying issue of a video that is being shared on Tik Tok of a man live streaming his own suicide. Alex Cooney, CEO of Cybersafe Ireland says Irish teenagers may be viewing the video without wanting to.
And Damien hears from a listener, Helen, whose 81 year old mother is very distressed at not being able to visit her husband who has been hospitalised for the past three weeks.
In the second part of the show we deal with the issues that some customers are having with the Eir network. Councillor John Pratt tells Damien that these issues are particularly hitting people in the west of the county.
Reporter Aoife Kearns has a fascinating story about a mountain rescue in Waterford last weekend.
Today is world Suicide Prevention Day. Mags Durand O Connor tells us about her late husband Donal and the charity event that she has run in his memory since he took his own life over 10 years ago.
And we have another feature in "Coming Out of Covid". Kieran O Connior speaks to John O Sullivan from Kelpex Displays in Tallow.
