Tipperary hurler Lar Corbett has caused controversy this week by releasing an advertisement which depicts Jesus holding a pint of Heineken while celebrating that the pub is open on Good Friday.

One listener was so disgusted by the advertisement they contacted Deise Today, bringing this advertisement to our attention. The text that we received from the listener Paul reads below.

"Hi, Eamon,

I've seen this advert below of our Lord being used to promote drinking on Good Friday. I think it is absolutely disgusting!!! It should be removed immediately!!

The controversial move by the Tipperary hurler and his business partner has resulted in split views from the public.

Counsellor Joe Kelly who was disgusted by the advertisement has described it as "highly offensive."
