A total of €95.3m has been invested in wind energy in Waterford and this has resulted in the creation of 95 jobs.
Due to the investment, Waterford now has the capability of of powering 39,000 homes a year and the council have been recieving over €400,000 in rates annually.
There have been many objections to these windfarms from familes, due to the noise polution that they can cause in their area.
