A person who says they owe their life to the rescue services has urged anyone feeling unwell to seek help.
The person, who wished to remain anonymous, contacted Deise Today by letter and singled out rescue services personnel for their help at a dark point in their life.
She said the Waterford City River Rescue were "Highly professional from start to finish," while the ambulance service provided "no judgement, only complete understanding".
"I look back on that day now and I can honestly say, only for that boat . . . I wouldn't be here today."
She added that she is now the mother of a beautiful baby boy and her life is back on a steady footing.
