Gardai in Waterford are investigating after six dogs were taken from the rear of a Northern Ireland registered van on Thursday.
Waterford Animal Welfare assisted gardaí in the seizure. Andrew Quinn from the animal charity told Damien Tiernan on Deise Today that there were a lot of unanswered questions around the ownership and destination of the dogs.
He also said the issue of dog-napping was a growing concern in the area, with dog owners reporting seeing cable-ties or marks on their walls, leading to concerns their dogs may be targeted.
