It's been dubbed 'Dating Sunday' by popular dating apps such as Plenty Of Fish, Match.com and Bumble as they have announced the first Sunday in January as their busiest day of the year.
Online dating experts have said that the phenomenon has arisen as January is traditionally the time of the year where we set goals and vow to change our lives for the better. This has made this week the perfect time to get your love life in gear after a busy first week back in work and set up a profile on one of the various dating services on the market.

“The end of the year is really a good time of reflection,” said Jess Carbino, dating app Tinder’s in-house sociologist.
“People have the opportunity to really think about what they’ve done in the past year and what they want to do in the future. And for many single people, finding a partner is something that they really want to establish as a goal for the new year.”
It's worth noting that it's estimated that over 44 million matches were made on the popular dating app tinder alone.
