On Wednesday's 'Déise Today', Damien was talking to Matt Keane of WLR's sports department, Paul Morrissey and Gary Coad
Gary is the son of Waterford Soccer legend Seamie 'The Major' Coad who died on Tuesday.
Affectionately known as the Major, Seamie won three League medals in 1965/66, 1967/68 and 1969/70.
He won a Shield medal in 1968/69 and the Top Four Cup in 1967/68 and 1968/69.
He played on the losing Cup Final team to Shamrock Rovers in 1968 and later that year played in both European Cup matches v Manchester United who were the holders at that time.
He won an FAI Cup winners medal with Limerick in 1971 v Drogheda.
He scored 50 goals in 192 League appearances for Waterford over a career that stretched from 1956 to 1970.
He won 4 Republic of Ireland Amateur caps and 4 Inter-League caps
He was manager after Johnny Matthews in 1990 for a spell with Noel O’Neill. Later he managed the B team.
His son Gary said his dad had a deep love of football:
“Seamie played every match, even when he came back to playing again in his 40s, like it was a European match against Manchester United – it didn’t matter whether it was a pub league match, whether it was a training match he always told us give everything you can because you never know when it’s going to be your last match. He just loved playing ball and helping people to play ball”.
