On Tuesday's Deise Today Eamon spoke to Fr Peter McVerry about the latest the government measure to tackle rising rents. This new measure brought forward for Minister for Housing will make it a criminal offence to increase rent by more 4% a year in certain rental zones. The proposed bill will also give the Rental Tenancy Bora (RTB) the power to initiate an investigation rather than waiting for a tenant to make a complaint.

One listener from Dungarvan, 'Martin' spoke to Eamon about his exceptionally high insurance quote. He has been driving for 30 years on his commercial van but when he was quoted insurance for a personal car he was told he had no experience. As a result, 'Martin' was quoted between €1,500 and €3,500 and is now on a policy costing just over €2,000 with an excess of €3,000

Waterford City and County Counsellor Eamon Quinlan aired his views about how he is concerned about "Institutional Bias Against Waterford," following Failte Ireland's new tourism initiative for the Midlands.
