On Thursday's show of 'Déise Today', Maria was talking to Rob Landers who is a Consultant Pathologist at University Hosptial Waterford.
Rob along with three of his colleagues submitted a letter to the HSE to tell them about the lack of refrigeration for dead bodies in the mortuary.
It tells the story of bodily fluids leaking on to the floor and bodies decomposing in corridors.
They said that the conditions had caused almost unspeakable distress to families.
The consultants said that some families had been forced to have closed-coffin funerals for their relatives because of the condition of their remains.
In the letter of 18 October 2018, the consultant pathologists said the facilities were "a gross affront to the dignity of the deceased and bereaved".
They said there had been an ongoing failure by the HSE to progress the provision of a new mortuary facility since 2006 when the brief for the project was completed.
Rob Landers, speaking to Maria said that the pathologists felt that they had little option but to submit this letter to the HSE which was then leaked to TD's and the media.

Thursday's version of 'Déise Today' was also packed with plenty of chat on several different topics.
Maria was talking to Grace O'Sullivan, Green party senator for Waterford who is also a candidate for European elections. Grace has been conflicted recently as she did not want to use any posters for her campaign for environmental reasons. However, on the advice of her campaign manager, she felt that she had to use a "limited amount of them to get my message and face across to people". Without them, she felt that her campaign would suffer as a result.
Maria was also talking to John Lowe AKA 'The Moneydoctor' who was discussing the recent news that a lot of workers are not saving for pensions and his fears as to what might happen in the future because of this!
