Damien was also speaking to Professor James O’Higgins-Norman, Director of the ‘National Anti-Bullying Research and Resource Centre at DCU’.
James was on the show to discuss Davy Fitzgerland, who is the Wexford Hurling manager and his recent comments as he hits out at cyberbullying and what is being done to stop it.
The two time Clare All-Ireland winner has said he has seen first hand the effect of cyberbullying off the pitch and wants new legislation to tackle the issue.
He said: “Cyberbullying is massive out there. Life is short enough. It really bothers me.
“I think the Government has to take a good look at the laws that are there and I really mean this; they need to get their act together.
“Bullying young people is out there, there’s certain things happening that don’t need to happen, and I would encourage the government, the sooner, the better. We have to take a grip of stuff.”
