On Thursday's 'Déise Today', Damien was talking to Jennifer O'Connell, staff feature writer and magazine columnist for 'The Irish Times'.

Jennifer was on 'Déise Today' this morning to talk about the 'dirty work' being done in Ireland by Facebook to keep their website up and running. By 'dirty work' Jennifer was talking about the people that work for Facebook that scour the site looking for adult video's, distressing images or anything that might cause distress for people.

Jennifer says that "if you put a comment on Facebook, more than likely someone will be looking at it and deciding on whether it's a hate speech comment and decide whether to take it down or not".

She says that these people earn around 24,000 to 32,000 euro which "is significantly lower than the average Facebook employee who ears around 154,000 euro per year. Jennifer points out that these comment moderators are not employed by Facebook and this leads to a high staff turnover within the company. She says the high turnover is due to "the stress of the job and also the distressing things that people have to look at every day, some of the stuff that is seen is quite gruesome".

Also on Thursday’s Déise Today, Damien was talking to Bernadette Ryan, relationship counsellor and listener Roisin Ryan. The three were having a chat about is it okay in today’s age to still take your husband’s surname or is it too old fashioned?

Bernadette entails about how in today’s world it’s now a much bigger deal for women to take their husband's surname compared to before, Bernadette says that before it was just normal for women to do it, “women were seen as property and so didn’t really have any input into the discussion”.
