On Friday's Déise Today, Damien sat down with the former director of elections for Fine Gael in Waterford Maurice Cummins.
Maurice had only recently stepped down just as director only a couple of weeks out from the local elections with polling day taking place on Friday the 24th of May!
Mr Cummins says that the main reason that he is stepping down at this time is due to the disengagement of John Deasey with the local Fine Gael association. Mr Deasey has been aTeachta Dála for Waterford since the 2002 general election.
Cummins also claims that "Mr Deasey has not spoken to 7 out of the eight local candidates in this year's local election and has been largely absent from public life and also from our local association".

Apart from that Friday's episode of Déise Today had many different topics up for discussion!
Damien was chatting to Dr Jennifer Kavanagh, a law lecturer in the school of humanities at WIT. Jennifer was on the show to discuss the upcoming divorce referendum which is also taking place on the same day as the local elections on Friday the 24th of May.
Gavin Whelan was on to discuss the weekend's sporting action with the focus being on Waterford FC and their crucial match against St. Patricks Athletic up at Richmond Park on Friday night. There is a lot of niggle in that match seeing as St. Pats were the team that reported Waterford FC to UEFA and lost Waterford their European license.
Damien also had Brendan Howlin, leader of the Labour Party on to discuss the UHW mortuary and the claims made by Taoiseach Leo Varadkar where he questioned the legitimacy of the claims made by the four pathologists over the issue.
