On Thursday's 'Déise Today' Damien hosted the first of the Local Election debates!
This debate was for the constituency of Waterford City West and Tramore.
In the first debate was Fianna Fail councillor Eamon Quinlan, Sinn Fein councillor Jim Griffin and Green Party Candidate Marc O'Cathsaigh.
The debate revolved around a number of topics especially on the state of Tramore town and the work that the three men have been doing and will hope to keep doing if they are elected by the public.
Jim and Eamon talked about the work that they had been doing as councillors for the past five years.
Jim explained that he is apart of a lot of local community groups and does his best to make sure that interest of the people that voted for him are met to the best of his ability.
Councillor Quinlan explains that he has been involved in a lot of business groups in his time and wants to see the regeneration of the city centre as he says that "there are too many empty spaces in our city centre".
Marc O'Cathsaigh of the Green Party is hoping to regenerate Tramore Town and also the city centre while also hoping to be green friendly for the city and county!

There was also a second debate between Una Dunphy of People Before Profit, Rita Lacey of Fianna Fail and Micheal Gallwey of Renua.
Michael Gallwey claimed that the 33% of the population that voted no in the referendum aren't having their voices heard and he hopes to change that if he is elected.
Una Dunphy objects to that statement by saying that "the vote has been made and I don't feel that people are looking for a change here".
Rita Lacey is hoping that the 1.3 million from the Tramore town revitalisation plan can be huge to the town and will be used to put Tramore back onto the front foot again.
