On Tuesday's Déise Today, Damien was talking to Ged Nash, who is a Labour senator and also their employment spokesman. Mr Nash wants Irish Firms to implement a four-day working week in a measure that he thinks will increase productivity in the workplace.

Ged says that there is a lot of research being done to suggest that doing this will "improve productivity", it "improves profits and also that workers and bosses have better social lives as they have an extra day off".

Damien suggests that bosses will be totally against this and they will want their employees to be working harder, not "getting more time off". However, Mr Nash points to Germany where he says that "workers here work fewer hours than the same employees that work in Greece, however, we can point to the workers in Germany are more productive and thus produce more profit for their companies".

He also points to the social benefits. Mr Nash says that by working one day less, you can spend more time with your families and friends and so when you do work, "you find yourself happier, you are more determined, and so when you do work, your productivity goes and up and so the profits then also go up".

There was plenty of discussion on Tuesday's Déise Today apart from this, Damien was talking to Katherine Donnelly, education editor with 'The Irish Independent' about how Catholic schools are opposed to the idea of a proposed switch in patronage. Schools are being warned that by doing so, events such as Christmas, St. Patricks Day and Pancake Tuesday will no longer be celebrated!

We also had John Lonergan on Tuesday morning to talk about the 10 million euro of taxpayer's money that has been spent on prisoner compensation claims in the past five years! This is due to due to assaults and "slopping out" practices - including €100,000 to two families whose relatives died from "self-inflicted" wounds.
