On Friday's version of 'Déise Today', Maria was speaking to Conor Faughen, Director of Consumer Affairs for ‘AA Ireland’ on the new phenomenon that a celebrity lawyer in England has been describing as phone zombies.

It’s a term describing someone who keeps looking at their phone while they walk along the streets or cross the road.

Nick Freeman – also known as Mr. Loophole – thinks the habit should be illegal.

Conor says that this is also a huge problem here in Ireland and that are people are getting themselves into dangerous situations simply by not paying attention to the real world, instead of having their phones buried into their phones.

Also on Friday’s version of ‘Déise Today’, Maria was talking to Feargal Harrington who is the director and co-founder of ‘Intro Matchmaking’ to talk about the problems of modern love.

A new survey this week reveals that the art of chatting up women is dying out as cautious men are now too fearful to attempt to chat up women due to things such as the #METOO movement.

Feargal says that “Irish men, in general, are quite reserved and would be tough for them to try and chat up a girl, when they do eventually gain the courage and walk up to a girl, we are hearing more and more stories of girls destroying a man’s confidence telling them to go away”. He goes on to say that “men eventually just stopped going up to women as they are afraid to say anything in fear of having their confidence shot even more than what it already is”.

Feargal also said that people are becoming very picky in what they want from their online dating act, it’s gotten to a point now where Feargal says that they simply reject some people from their dating site as their demands are just too specific.

Also, Maria was talking to Niall McNamara, a Waterford GP based at the Keogh Practice in Ballybricken to talk about the recent news that San Francisco have banned the use of E-Cigs there and whether Ireland should also ban E-Cigs considering that we don’t know if they are right for us or not.
