On Thursday's version of 'Déise Today', Damien was speaking to the WIT student union welfare officer Darren Malone on the rising costs that come with sending a child to college.
New figures from the Technological Universities of Dublin cost of living guide show that it costs nearly 12,000 per year for students to live away from home!
In Dublin, the cost of rent is upwards of 1,300 euro for students.
Darren told us of how in Waterford, the costs of accommodation are not as steep there as say in Dublin and Cork, but unfortunately, he says that we are going towards that trend due to the type of accommodation that is available now to students and also that landlords are no longer letting to students.
Darren says that this is because "Landlords will get more money letting to a young person working or a young family for 12 months at a time compared to letting to students for nine months", "this is making it a lot more difficult to find accommodation for the academic year".

Also on the show, there was reaction to the RTE Investigates piece that was aired last Wednesday on the Greyhound industry.
The RTÉ Investigates programme cited a confidential business analysis report prepared for the Irish Greyhound Board which states that up to 6,000 greyhounds are being killed each year because they are not fast enough.
The Irish greyhound industry is breeding 1,000% more puppies than it needs, leading to a cull of thousands of racing dogs every year.
On the show was Andrew Quinn, who works with Waterford Animal Welfare who discusses this.
Damien was also chatting WLR Greyhound racing correspondent Mark Phillips as well as local greyhound owners out at Kilcohan Park Greyhound Stadium.
