On Tuesday's Déise Today, Damien was talking to Sinead Brannigan, Cill Barra Community Centre manager plus programme leaders Pat Scahill and Jim Long who took part in the 'Operation Transformation' initiative to lose some weight.

Over the past two months, the initiative has collectively gone and lost a whopping collective weight loss of 731 pounds and a half! Both Jim and Pat told us how they were just not happy about where they were with their bodies and wanted to make a change for themselves.

Pat told us how he used to be quite fit in his 20's; however, as time went on, he became more and more unfit and got to a point where he said that enough is enough. It came when he said that he was just too lazy to even get off the couch to get the remote. Now he is walking over 5km every morning to stay fit.

Jim echoed his sentiments by saying that the course has brought a lot of good into his life, that he is now more active and has made new friends through the course.

Sinead told us about how the programme works and that they brought in "dieticians and trainers to help everyone". They all told us about the friends and the social aspects of the course too and the good that it has done for them.
