On Monday's Déise Today, Damien was talking to Ricky. Ricky is a Waterford man formerly from Mitchelstown but has lived in Waterford for the past few years.

Ricky was telling us his story of Drug Abuse and the help that he received via 'Narcotics Anonymous'.

Ricky began by talking about what led him down the road to drug abuse by talking about school. He says that he was quite big in school and when he went into first year in secondary school, that it was his chance to make himself school. He decided to try and hang out with what he said were "the cool kids in the school, and I wanted to be cool". He hoped that by getting in with them, those other people would no longer bully him anymore. He says that he was "bullied badly in school."

However, he says that these people then sent him down a bad path, he began to rob people and to take drugs as well. He says that "robbing people isn't right but your morals would simply go out the window". He began to go down a dark place and became addicted to drugs.

He wants people to become aware of the great work that is being done by 'Narcotics Anonymous' and of the 'Narcotics Anonymus' event that is taking place in St. Patrick's Gateway this coming Wednesday, the 27th of March.
