On Monday's version of 'Déise Today', Damien was speaking to Breda Birmingham on the issue of menopause.

Menopause is described as " The term menopause can describe any of the changes a woman goes through either just before or after she stops menstruating, marking the end of her reproductive period".

As Breda explains, a large proportion of the population of Ireland is now over the age of 50, which means that a lot of women will now be going through the effects of menopause.

On Monday’s ‘Déise Today’, Damien was talking to Eddie Reade, who is a popular figure in the Carrick on Suir community.

Eddie was on the show to talk about the problems that the town has seen over recent times. Eddie calls that there is now a petition is being collected to ask for more Garda numbers and for the local station to open for 24 hours, seven days a week to solve the drug problem that is existing in the town.

Eddie says that “even though the name that the town had received had been quelled over the last couple of years, this could be something that undoes all the hard work that people have done over the past while”.

Eddie hopes that if extra Gardai are brought into the town, their presence will stop people from taking part in this activity and also help to catch people in the act.
