On Wednesday's 'Déise Today', Maria was talking to Claire Feeney from Ballyduff Upper.
Claire was on the show to discuss her worrying experience on Holy Thursday night when her two and a half-year-old boy felt quite sick, and so she decided to ring the caredoc. However, when she rang it, she was left on hold for a solid 90 minutes which left her quite worried and stressed for the safety of her child! "I didn't know what to do; I was so worried".
She recalls the story on how she was at home and around 5.30 pm he suddenly "flopped" to the floor. She checked his temperature, and it was high, so she decided to ring the caredoc. She says that "an automated system told me to please hold". However at 7.20 pm nearly 90 minutes after she rang she decided to give up when her sons temperature had gone down a small bit. She still stayed up for the night with her son to make sure that nothing happened and in the morning when she rang the caredoc again she got answered within 5 minutes!
Labour councillor for Tallow John Pratt was also on the line and said that sadly this is the norm in these situations especially in the West Waterford area.

Wednesday's episode of 'Déise Today' was another packed show. The main story involved the story that dead bodies have been left lying on trolleys at University Hospital Waterford.
A letter by four consultant pathologists has described bodily fluids leaking on to the floor and bodies decomposing in corridors.
Sinn Féin TD David Cullinane told Maria that it is a sad case of affairs that it takes whistleblowers to get information out of the HSE and that more accountability that has to take place within the HSE.
