On Tuesday's 'Déise Today', Damien was talking to Fine Gael senator Paudie Coffey who is now also the director of local elections for Fine Gael as well.

Damien was chatting to Paudie to discuss why he believes the people of Waterford should vote yes for a directly elected mayor for Waterford.

Mr Coffey believes that this is a fantastic opportunity for Waterford and that he is afraid that Waterford will be left behind the rest of the country if the people vote no to this proposal.

Later on, in the show, we had a debate in the Waterford City South ward with councillors Cha O'Neil, Sean Reinhardt as well as two new local candidates Donal Barry and Vivienne Burns.

All 4 of these candidates voted no to these proposals due to a couple of reasons. The first of which was that the wage was too high. Cllr O'Neil says that "simply the wage is just too high".
