On Monday's Déise Today, Damien and the Déise Today team decided to make a little April Fool's prank to the rest of the WLR team and also to our listeners.
Damien decided to pretend that he was ringing senator Paudie Coffey to open the show but acted as if Paudie could not be reached by phone. He decided to go to music while they tried to get Mr Coffey, but pretended that he did not bring his mic down and let his voice go through the county over the airwaves. People frantically came in to try and tell Damien that he was still on air.
Damien could not take the abuse and started to complain and telling people "to leave me alone". So much so that during its airing some employees came in to scream at Damien that he was on air!
