On Monday's Déise Today, Damien was talking to Stephen Collins, a columnist with 'The Irish Times' about cabinet minister Finin McGrath's comments over the weekend.

Mr McGrath criticised the implementation of the new drink driving laws, which he said has been "really over the top", and said he had received a number of complaints from people around the country about being breathalysed in the middle of the day.

"To me, the breathalysing time should be at pub closing time between 12 am, and 2 am in the morning. That's where the focus should be, so I don't know what agenda is going on there," he said.

He added: "A police force - like teachers, nurses - guards should always be non-political. That would not be tolerated in any other profession."

This has created widespread condemnation of Mr McGrath and has seen call's by many TD's and minister that he must resign over this.

Among these is Leo Lieghio, Leo is apart of the Irish Road Victims Association and whose 16-year-old daughter Marissa was killed in a hit and run incident, says driving over the limit at any time puts lives at risk and is promoting drink driving.

It was an in-depth conversation on the match with some great analysis from all involved. We also had Sinn Fein TD for Waterford, David Cullinane in to discuss how there is no funding in place to staff the 72 extra beds that are due to open in July in UHW.
We also had Dr Geoff Plant, a GP based in the Keogh Practice in studio with his medical slot to answer all of your questions.
