On Tuesday's Deise Today, Damien was talking with Edward, who was highlighting an important issue with childcare costs and the situation that some parents are entitled to drastically reduced creche costs. However some parents may not know themselves that they can do this if they have a medical card.

Edward was talking about how he hands out 150 euro per week on his daughter and was commenting on how he was talking to a couple that he knows. He said to Damien that both of them are on the dole and have three kids that all go to creches. Edward was astouned that they were spending what he thought was 450 euro on them. However, the couple remarked that as they both have medical cards, they get it for much cheaper. Edward remarked however, that a lot of people will "take the P-I-S-S out of the system for their own advantages". He does not agree that people with medical cards should be getting this type of allowance and that it is unfair on the working people.

Responding to this, Declan Clune, who is a Sinn Fein member of 'Waterford City and County Council' had said that "I dont know if that is 100% accurate". Damien was then talking to Declan about the controversial picture of the Sinn Fein leader, Mary Lou McDonald, where she was posing with a banner that said "England, get out of Ireland".
