On Monday's version of 'Déise Today', Damien was talking to Stephen Wallace, who last Friday morning was due to go in for surgery into University Hospital Waterford to get rid of cancer.
However, once he got into the hospital and checked in was when everything started to go wrong.
Stephen recalls how one of the managers came up to him and had to explain to him that the hospital was at a critical point with hospital beds and that they simply did not have a bed for him. She apologized for this and Stephen says that "I could tell that she was really upset that she had to tell me this, it's just her job at the end of the day".
He hopes that his surgery can be rearranged soon enough and that he won't be waiting too long.
However, Stephen does not blame the hospital itself for this happening, instead of saying that the funds and resources aren't there for the hospital and hopes that by coming forward, that maybe more funds will be made available to the hospital.

Also on the show, Damien was talking to Conor O'Neil, District Engineer for the metropolitan area of Waterford City and County Council to talk about the recent traffic issues that are existing on Lombard Street this morning.
Damien was also talking to Eamon Ryan, leader of the Green Party to discuss the new climate strategy that was unveiled today.
Motorists and businesses will feel the brunt of tax hikes unless they actively invest in going green. The Government plans to force petrol and diesel cars off our roads, introduce new buildings regulations and change the school curriculum in a bid to counteract climate change.
A leaked copy of the plan shows it has a major emphasis on the transport sector. Proposals include banning petrol and diesel cars from town centres around the country.
