On Thursday's 'Déise Today', Damien was speaking to Oliver Murphy of 'Oliver Murphy Insurance Brokers' to talk about the recent report which states that insurance companies are making profits of over 1,300% for covering for homes, business and motorists.
Motor cover for motorists gave the insurers combined profits of €125m, while the average motor insurance premiums increased by 70% between 2013 and 2016.
Household and commercial property insurance provided combined for profits of €84.3m to the 17 firms.
There are calls on the Government to do more to bring down insurance costs.
Also speaking on the show was business journalist Gavin McLoughlin who warned that we must be careful when it comes on how to solve this problem. Gavin warns that we must make sure that the insurance companies do not go broke and we have a repeat of ten years ago during the recession.

Also on the show, Damien was discussing with numerous people on who they think is the greatest football player of all time, with the release of a new Diego Maradona documentary which showcases the man footballing talent as well as his downfall brought about the age-old question on who truly is the greatest of all time.
The narrative was that it was either Maradonna, Pele, Messi or Ronaldo with it being split quite evenly on who it was.
There was also discussion on the recent comments made by Father Tom Forde that he made about gay people.
In his homily to parishioners last weekend in the Friary in Co Kilkenny, Brother Tom Forde suggested those who believe in contraception and abortion are “morally rotten” and the “living dead”.
It is understood a number of people got up and left the mass last Saturday.
