On Friday's version of 'Déise Today', Damien and the team held a number of debates for the electoral area of Waterford City East ahead of the local elections which are taking place on Friday the 24th of May for the Local and European elections.
In the first debate was sitting Fianna Fail councillor Adam Wyse, sitting Sinn Fein councillor Pat Fitzgerald, Independent candidate Michael Garland and Independent candidate Lee Walsh.
The conversation delved around the need for Independents in the local councillor and if they are necessary or not. Everyone sitting at the table did agree that Independents did indeed have their place in local politics and what a suitable Independent can do for their communities.
The conversation then went into the development of the North Quays and the potential that this development could have on the city and the people of Waterford and the hopes that it'll be a success.

On Friday's 'Déise Today', Damien was chatting to the director for 'Falcon Real Estate Ireland' to give us an update on the progress on the North Quays development and the expected timeline for the project.
The conversation also delved into how the North Quays will look like in terms of what will happen to certain buildings such as the train station, the footbridge from Ferrybank into the city centre.
Damien also asked Rob about if the there is any chance that Falcon Real Estate would bail on the contract and sell it off to someone else to which Rob replied that "there is no chance of that happening, we are commited to this".
