Also on Monday's 'Déise Today', Damien was speaking to Jennifer O’Connell, a columnist with ‘The Irish Times’.
Jennifer was on the show to discuss how Waterford was rated quite good for its retailers despite what most critics would say with Waterford being quite poor for retailers.
The survey was conducted by ‘The Irish Times’ and took a lot of factors into account including, the number of shops, the quality of these shops and also things such as how many pubs are in the city centre.
Jennifer says that having too many pubs in the city centre was actually a negative in the survey and that as Waterford doesn’t have too many pubs around the centre, this was seen as a big plus for Waterford.

Also on Monday’s show was a discussion on the Rockall row.
The British navy annexed the rock in 1955 by hoisting the Union flag and cementing a brass plaque on its storm-washed summit. The 1972 Island of Rockall Act, passed by parliament in Westminster, formally declared it to be part of Inverness-shire, even though the nearest permanently inhabited settlement is 367km (228 miles) away on North Uist in the Outer Hebrides.
Irish Governments have not recognised these claims, and recently there have been rows between fisherman from Ireland and Scotland which has lead to claims by the Scottish government that they will use military naval powers to stop Irish trawlers from fishing in this area.
Also on the show was a discussion of the cervical check controversy.
CervicalCheck has been forced to outsource the backlog of smear tests from women in Ireland to four different laboratories in the United States.
The move emerged today in a bid to clear the massive backlog of 65,000 smear tests which has led to many women waiting months for results.
The HSE said an agreement has been reached with Quest laboratories which currently processes smear tests for the Irish screening programme CervicalCheck in New Jersey.
But it will mean the tests will now have to be distributed among more laboratories.
The HSE said the new labs have been inspected for quality control and safety.
The backlog has led to long delays in returning results to women who can be waiting for up to 33 weeks.
