On Wednesday's version of 'Déise Today', Damien was speaking to Dr Derek Freedman, a Dublin based specialist in sexual health and sexually-transmitted infections.

The Dr was on to talk about the changing sexual behaviour and the influence of in particular alcohol.

He is also talking about how festivals are a "breeding ground" for STI's and casual sex.

Dr Freedman states that he has no problem with casual sex but would like to see young people take more care in their sexual health as we are seeing all too often young people contract STI's.

He says that particularly with alcohol, "a young person could have 100 condoms with them and they still won't use them.. young people need to become more educated still".

Tanaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Coveney says that ‘we have multiple scenarios in how to stop smugglers if there is a hard border with Brexit’.

Mr Coveney was speaking to Damien Tiernan on WLR FM’s ‘Déise Today’ after yesterday, where Coveney brought three memos to Cabinet in relation to Ireland’s preparedness for the UK’s exit from the EU.He says that “A no-deal Brexit will be very challenging. It will put a huge strain on certain sectors of the Irish economy”.

When dealing with smugglers, Mr Coveney says actions such as ‘pre-registering, pay customs duties online are the way’s that we can deal with this, along with physical checking”.
When quizzed about Waterford Fine Gael TD John Deasy, who has accused the Waterford branch of the party of bullying, the Tanaiste revealed that ” anybody making an accusation in Fine Gael will have a full investigation into the accusation”.

For a timescale, he says that ” We don’t want this issue to linger.. we need to be on the ground in Waterford to raise morale ahead of the general election which will happen in the next 12 months”.
