"On the move", a new series of health and activity programmes backed by Horizon Therapeutics, will hit the Waterford Greenway on 29 July alongside Focus Ireland to raise critical cash for homeless services. Focus Ireland seeks to assist Irish kids and their households who are at present facing homelessness.
This event is the first of an ongoing programme where individuals can enjoy the beauty of the Waterford Greenway while contributing donations for Focus Ireland's essential services. Ireland is home to a record 12,259 homeless individuals, including 3,594 children. The number of homeless persons is on the rise, up from 9,825 at this time last year, making this year's initiatives even more crucial. By participating in a challenge or creating your own challenge, you can do your bit to tackle homelessness and have a fabulous family day out as part of Focus Ireland's "On the Move" campaign.
Follow Focus Ireland and ride the spectacular trail that connects the ancient Viking city of Waterford, with the charming seaside hamlet of Dungarvan. A breathtaking journey via eleven bridges, three viaducts, a 400-meter tunnel, along the verdant banks of the River Suir, and all the way to Waterford's renowned Copper Coast is set against the magnificent Comeragh Mountains. Anyone 16 and older may participate in this challenge. Participants must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian if they are 16 to 18 years old.
