October has rolled around again, and as we've done on WLR for the past few years, we're marking the chiller Autumn month with our favourite rock songs... que Rocktober!
Every day on The Drive Home, we ask you to pick your favourite rock song and tell us why you love it so much. So whether you fancy a classic from the Rolling Stones, ZZ Top, Led Zeppelin, Queen; or something more recent, like Kings of Leon, Imagine Dragons, The Killers or Coldplay, you can text or whatsapp your song in to 083-3333975 between 3-6pm, or email it to [email protected].
Every day a new song is chosen, we'll add it to the list below to create a playlist of Waterford's Favourite Rock songs.
First up, 3rd October: Tom Petty - paying homage to the legendary rocker who died on October 2nd - Into The Great Wide Open.
4th October: Pink Floyd - Another Brick In The Wall.
Chosen by Rosie McGrath who says it's her all time favourite.
5th October: The Kinks, You Really Got Me
Chosen by Alan O'Connor who says he and his wife had the time of their lives dancing to it the night they met. It's still his favourite song to this day!
6th October: Def Leppard, Pour Some Sugar On Me
Chosen by Eric in Tramore, who says it reminds him of the days when he used to be getting up to stuff he shouldn't have been getting up to!
