Waterford TDs Clash over North Quays Meeting - Deise Today Wednesday 29th July

Waterford Independent TD Matt Shanahan and Sinn Fein TD David Cullinane exchanged words publicly over the past few days after deputy Cullinane claimed he was left out of a meeting regarding the future of the North Quays Development, which was attended by Fianna Fail TD Mary Butler, Fine Gael senator John Cummins and deputy Shanahan. On todays show Damien Tiernan speaks to both men to hear their side of the story.

Damien also speaks to Ferrybank resident Billy Gallagher about a homeless man who has been living in the area for the past few years. The conditions the man has been living in has deteriorated however authorities say they can do nothing.

We also hear from campaigner Tommy Roche who is petitioning the minister for health to make medicinal herbal cannabis available for Cancer sufferers.

The numbers of people flocking to coastal towns such as Tramore and Dunmore East has increased since lockdown was lifted, as many people are choosing to Staycation this summer. Damien speaks to Una Dunphy who is calling on Bus Eireann to provide a bus service from Waterford City to Dunmore East. The only bus to the village at present is ordinarily run by Suirway however that service is not currently available due to Covid-19 restrictions.

William Smith from City Vets joins Damien for his monthly pet advice slot. Today he is talking about worms.

Damien also discusses a protest that is happening outside the Convention Centre in Dublin today, where the Dail is sitting. It has been organised by a group called 'Enough is Enough' who are running a national campaign looking for the safe full resumption of adult day services for those with disabilities. Damien speaks to spokesperson Linda Comerford.

And Ella Fahy from Dungarvan Sailing Club tells Damien about the increase in interest in sailing this year.
