On the show today Damien Tiernan speaks exclusively to Waterford man James Croke who is being held in a detention centre in Schipol airport in Amsterdam, on foot of an alleged incident in the country 18 years ago. The Ferrybank native tells Damien that he has not been given access to a solicitor or the Irish embassy.
Damien is also joined in studio by Jordans Pub owner Anna Jordan to discuss a new campaign asking people to support their local pubs. There was a massive backlash over the weekend after a video went viral on social media showing a restaurant in Dublin flouting social distancing laws. NPHET will meet to day with many predicting further lockdown restrictions may be introduced. Anna says pubs are trying to survive and says the numbers are soaring even with pubs closed.
And Damien also hears from Waterford economist Jim Power who is predicting possible the worst recession we have ever seen following the world pandemic.
In the second part of the show Nigel Kelly has all the latest on sport from the weekend.
