Tallow homeowner Patricia Condon presented Damien with an interesting story this morning...a mystery bad smell in her house on the town's Convent Street, which she has yet to find the source of!
Patricia bought the house 20 years ago and has put a lot of work into it over the years.
She described the smell - which, she says it's actually coming from the proximity of her double oven in her fitted kitchen - on this morning's Deise Today as "like bad cabbage/bad cauliflower"...similar to the smell of a brown compost bin.
"It's not there all the time; it comes and goes. It could start on a Friday and we could have it the whole weekend. It's going on like that now five or six years," she said.
"It's affecting our noses, it's affecting our throats and it's affecting our eyes."
She says she has one neighbour who also has this smell in his house.
She accepted it could be a drain near to her house but has yet to find the exact source.
She has had Waterford City and County Council in doing tests and Irish Water also, but the problem remains.
