WATERFORD make-up artist Diane Everett gave Damien a 'crash course' guide this morning on how to become a social media 'influencer'!
The Mooncoin native, who lives in Waterford city, has has amassed some 70,000 followers across Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat...and is now considered one of the South East's most successful influencers.
Diane, who works full-time as a self-employed make-up artist and beauty therapist, described how her 'influencing' emerged some five or six years ago from her posting pictures and videos online of work she had done with clients.
Through hard work and engaging with her followers, her online prescence grew and now she has some 31,000 followers on Instagram alone, and a combined 70,000 across the various social media platforms!
As with other influencers, she now makes a regular income from this, including for being a brand ambassador for a tanning company.
She described spending one day a week working solely on her online presence.
A recent survey (by Pure Telecom) identified that a significant 28% of Irish people wanted a career as an online influencer. Some 50% of them felt they could earn more than the national average salary of 39,000 euro...
