Driver put off the road for parking in disabled spot - Deise Today Friday October 11th

A Waterford man who parked his van in a disabled parking bay without the proper permit has been put off the road for three months.

Darragh Power with an address at Keating Street, Dungarvan was fined €500 at Dungarvan District Court and disqualified from driving for three months, for failing to pay a fixed charge penalty notice of €150.

The fine and penalty have been welcomed by disability awareness groups who believe this will be a deterrent to other drivers.

On Deise Today Damien Tiernan spoke to Sean Rohan from the Waterford Disability Network about the case. He also spoke to Lismore man George Quinlan who is a disability badge holder.
