City woman Mary had a terrifying experience at Bonmahon beach last weekend - and took to the airwaves on 'Deise Today' to say thanks to two ladies who bravely came to her rescue!
Mary described how a rip current at the beach left her in fear of drowning. She says was it not for the intervention of two people - one a teenager aged just 13 or 14 - she would have been in serious trouble.
Speaking to Maria McCann on the show, she said she had been unfamiliar with the potentially dangerous rip current at the beach before she went out swimming.
She now wanted to make other people aware...and to publicly thank the two women, whom she didn't know, for helping her out of the water to safety.
She said the young teenager held her hand until help came - and she would be eternally grateful...
