All Summer Festivals including ATN Cancelled - Deise Today Wednesday 22nd April

It was confirmed yesterday that all mass gatherings over the size of 5,000 people, are to be cancelled until at least the end of August. This means that many summer events, including the Waterford festival All Together Now, as well as most sporting events, will not now go ahead. On today's show Damien speaks to concert promoter Vince Power, originally from Kilmacthomas, who has organised many festivals and large events.

Doctor Geoff Plant is in studio with his weekly medical advice slot with all the latest on Covid-19.

With many people taking extra precautions when they venture out of the house, there has been an increase in the number of discarded masks and plastic gloves littering the countryside. Jason King is a member of Mountaineering Ireland and he tells Damien that it is an issue.

And Damien speaks to the people of Lemybrien about how they are coping during the lockdown.

Also on the show Damien tackles the issue of cancelled holidays. There has been widespread criticism of Ryanair who are issuing vouchers rather than refunding people for cancelled flights. 8,000 people have contacted the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission about flights and holidays since February. Travel expert Eoghan Corry has the latest.

William Smith from City Vets has information regarding your pets in his monthly slot.

Damien also speaks to Frank Quinlan who is running 21kms daily for 21 days to raise funds for Pieta House and Frontline workers. And to Julie Ward about the Twitter sensation that is Where in Waterford.
