Nine stages are complete in Estonia and Craig Breen can be satisfied with his position in the overall standings.

Breen and co-driver Paul Nagle never dropped below second on the overall standings, with Finland's Kalle Rovenpera leading from the outset.

The Irish duo did set the fastest time on the third stage, but Rovenpera came back at them in the fourth and maintained his lead until the end.

Surprisingly, World Champion Sebastien Ogier never broke third place and he sits fourth overnight.

The Slieverue native Breen will be more than happy with his day's work and looks set to replicate his achievements at the same event last year when he claimed second after three days of racing.

132 kilometres beckon tomorrow, with the first stage of the day (the tenth stage overall) underway from 6.06am Irish time.

Breen and Nagle will once again be the seventh car out on the course.
