It's full steam ahead for Waterford's Harvest Festival this autumn, after being cancelled last year due to the pandemic.
Organisers say it will be going ahead this year, from the 6th to the 12th of September, with the city-wide event's programme set to be released in the coming weeks.
Co-director for the festival Shell Holden says it will be huge for the local economy.
"The key focus of Waterford City and Council for this year's iteration of Waterford's Harvest Festival is to mark the reemergence of the city's vibrant hospitality, entertainment, art and cultural sectors and to support them on their reopening.

"It's all about getting Waterford absolutely rocking, get loads of people into the restaurants, into museums, into bars, into clubs and having an amazing time in Waterford City," Shell says.

In the past, foodies were offered up to 70 free events which showcased the best of local food producers and restaurants, and this year Holden says festival-goers will also be treated to top-class food and drinks.
"We've gotten a great response from regional and local producers as well as restaurants and businesses citywide.
"We all want to come together and showcase and support all the amazing things Waterford has on offer and really showcase the food and drink offerings available, " Holden says.
