Dungarvan is marking Pride month by launching its very own Pride online presence and committee.
A virtual pride parade has been launched this lunchtime (Thursday 24th June) with the hope of having an actual Pride festival next year.
One of the organisers, Emilene Stafford says Dungarvan Pride has been created to show the Nation and the world that Dungarvan is a friendly and welcoming town to all walks of life.
The committee is asking all local businesses to support their online presence, where possible to display a pride flag from their business this Pride weekend and to share the video which was created by All That Can Be AKA John Birmingham.
Emilene says "As a town we have been very lucky to attract so many tourists from The Festival of Food & The Greenway. We at Dungarvan Pride feel it is very important to attract the LGBTQ+ community . Most importantly we feel it is especially important to let our local LGBTQ+ community know that they have support in their home town."
Organisers ask people to spread the love by liking & sharing posts from @dungarvanpride
